Speech-language Pathology (SLP) Services

Big Horn Health Service’s (BHS) Speech-language Pathologist collaborates with the BHS multi-disciplinary team to provide culturally sensitive assessment, consultation, and education to Big Horn community members. The goal of Speech-language Pathology (SLP) is to ensure that clients can communicate effectively. An SLP supports children, teens, & adults that may need support with communication or swallowing. Our SLP also provides hearing screenings to anyone who may be experiencing difficulties or changes with their hearing. The SLP will work with clients and come up with solutions to barriers that interfere with their day-to-day communication.

Services

Our SLP provides individualized assessments and treatment plans for multiple concerns, including:

  • articulation (pronouncing sounds, using clear speech)
  • using language (learning new words, speaking in sentences)
  • improving reading skills
  • talking smoothly, loudly, and clearly
  • using other ways to communicate (for example, iPads or pictures)
